Eveale - new band

Aug 31, 2025 by Steve

@Am I in Trouble? has been relatively quiet, while preparing something special with some friends.

In the meantime, wanted to share new band @Eveale.

Comprised of @Steve Wiener (guitars & bass; music songwriting) and Chris (drums) of @Am I in Trouble?, and @Alex Loach (vocals and lyrics), who you may know from his guest vocals on @Am I in Trouble?‘s "Black" and as lead vocalist of @Ashenheart.

The project began anonymously, as we did not want it to be perceived as a "side-project", however, some clever sleuths figured out our identities eventually.

Read more about @Eveale's origins here (written back when our identities were still a secret), in an interview with Srogi Mroczek on his new music-coverage site, Mephistophilizer: mephistophilizer.ghost.io/the-moth-and-the-newt/

In the context of @Am I in Trouble? (this is the AIIT? blog after all), @Eveale was partly created as a palate-cleanser after Spectrum released— an outlet for black metal that's a bit more "straight-forward", after the more complex, layered genre-hopping compositions of Spectrum.

Musically, I’m playing with the influences of the black metal bands I love who brought me into the genre to begin with— you’ll hear shades of Nidingr, Emperor, Gorgoroth, Vredehammer, early-Borknagar….

Lyrically, I don’t want to speak for @Alex Loach, so read the Mephistophilizer interview ;)

Expect more from @Am I in Trouble? and @Eveale soon.

Thank you,

-@Steve Wiener / @Am I in Trouble?
