About Christian Degn
Christian Degn is an artist, illustrator, and musician living in Provo, UT. With a primary focus on pen and ink drawing, his work explores the surrounding mountain landscapes in their inherent dreamlike qualities. Meticulously rendering scenes which blend real and imagined spaces, his work invites viewers to explore the intricacies possible in a presumably limited medium. Adapting techniques seen in the works of 19th century steel engravers, Golden Age illustration, and Pre-Raphaelite etchings, while introducing elements of abstraction and op-art, he presents a sophisticated, yet accessible merging of period styles. He has provided visuals for numerous musical acts such as Deafheaven, Pelican, Yob, Pallbearer, Scarcity, Black Wing, Agriculture, Ragana, Locrian, Inter Arma, Yellow Eyes, and recent NPR Tiny Desk Contest winners Little Moon.
