Looking back at 2025

Dec 24, 2025 by Ed

Can you believe this year is over already? Where did the time go? I’ve got a toddler, and my creative time and energy seems to get smaller every day. Despite this, I’ve managed to have a year that was productive and fun. Here’s a recap of 2025:

  • In January, I participated in #Jamuary, a challenge to write and publish a piece of music every day. By some stroke of luck, I managed to create 31 pieces of music AND a YouTube video for each one. Several songs from that have ended up slated for release on albums, so it was actually a really wonderful exercise. I’m not doing it again next year, though. That would probably kill me. Listen to all the Jamuary tunes in this playlist

  • In March, I released an album with Exit Chamber called SELF-, exploring concepts of identity in a digital world. This was my first official physical release, with a run of 20 cassettes. We sold all of them!

  • In April, I released Confluence. This album was a response to the onslaught of generally awful political/global news—it’s a series of longform ambient pieces that I wrote as a way of keeping myself grounded. It was nominated for “album of the year” by Cyclical Magazine (which as of the time of writing, is still open for voting)! I think the voting closes this week, and I’d be hugely appreciative if you’d cast a vote for me! VOTE FOR CONFLUENCE HERE)

  • In October, I released Tartarus, a dark ambient sci-fi horror/suspense album inspired by media like Alien and Dead Space. I put together a lot of visual art and lore for this one. I recommend watching the YouTube video for the best experience!

  • And just in time for everyone’s “Best of 2025” lists, I released a new EP in December titled Season Cycle: Winter. This is the first in a quadrilogy (thanks, Steve!) of seasons-themed EPs that I’ll be releasing on each equinox/solstice through 2026. This one’s already had a great reception, including getting played multiple times on the national nightly ambient radio show, Echoes!

  • I also had quite a few compilation appearances & remix contributions:

I am so appreciative of everyone who supported my music this year! I could go on, but character limit…thank you for listening to, sharing, and writing about my music. I am truly grateful for each and every one of you! Looking forward to 2026!
