Where lies the strangling fruit That came from the hand of the sinner I shall bring forth the seeds of the dead… To share with the worms, who gather in the darkness that surrounds this world And with the power of their lives they shape these words Giving their voices to the formless and unheard Speaking for the ones that never were Now I am filled with light Suffused with knowledge and a sense of hidden purpose A burning brightness just beneath the surface Apoptosis, the destruction of the self The death of the ego, unconsciously compelled To sacrifice and shed, the frailty of our flesh Until the light is all that’s left And all shall come to share this revelation, of the beauty in the desolation But in the black waters, where the sun still shines at night The fruit shall come ripe, in a darkness so golden And as they blossom, all our sins will be forgiven Forever washed away, by this beautiful decay A malady of melody Sings like fire through my burning veins Pregnant with the promise of the coming change Apoptosis, the destruction of the self The death of the ego, unconsciously compelled To sacrifice and shed, the frailty of our flesh Until the light is all that’s left All shall be granted their own illumination, in the glory of annihilation I am the prophet of the plague I am the herald of the passing of an age
