The Wheel
Dawnwalker
When I awoke all lay silent Formed from the void, a wind came arising Fell to the sky, the waves began their turning Came to the tide in the half-light Breathing life in the air Blown from the north Voices sending skywards A song that’s bound in time And the world was changed thereafter Breathing life into the air Fell from the sky and gave us to life We all crawled from the tide in the half-light Formed from the void, a stone came to life We all crawled from the tide in the half-light I fell... Light. Rain. Fire. Laughter. Joy. Pain. Birth. Violence. It takes time. The earth is young Green and fertile When lines are drawn Bounds are broken So, we fail When we take it apart from the root Oh! Breaking apart Torn to pieces Scattered by the wind We are turned from the garden We are thrown from the wheel e’er turning We fell when we pulled up the root Divide and part We fell when we pulled up the root Doomed from the start Fell from the sky and gave us to life We all crawled from the tide in the half-light Formed from the void, a stone came to life We all crawled from the tide in the half-light We fell when we pulled up the root From unspoken dreams I hear a wind rising in the leaves The wind will rise and the earth will shake I heard the movement of the earth’s tectonic plates The wind will howl and the bough will break I heard the screaming of the earth’s tectonic plates The wind kicks up The ground beneath shakes beneath your feet Eä dreaming The wind kicks up The ground beneath falls beneath your feet Eä waking Oh! Breaking apart Torn to pieces Scattered by the wind We are turned from the garden We are thrown from the wheel e’er turning

Dawnwalker return with the true follow-up to 2018's Human Ruins with 'Ages' - a portrait of a mythical world in decline. The seas swell, the forests burn and a cold wind blows for us all.

There are no two Dawnwalker records which sound the same, but each creates its own world. 'Ages' sees the band move deeper into longform, experimental metal compositions which may appeal to fans of Opeth, Wolves In The Throne Room, Kayo Dot and Tool, mixed with a prog/folk sensibility that stems form a love of King Crimson, the Moody Blues and Led Zeppelin, and pays homage to concept albums from the 1970s to the present day.
