Weight Of My Despair
Fire To The Prisons
Let me feel the weight of my despair,
Let me just hold it as my own,
Let our sadness guide our future there,
Your smile won't be found in your bones,
Focus on the brighter side and times,
While all around is up in flames,
Enjoy your breakfast, brunches and wines,
Yet I should hide my grief in shame?
Acknowledge the problem before we can solve it,
Never hide your pain.
Content with injustice is rather all fucked when,
You can't even give it a name,
Toxic and obsessed with ignoring the stress,
How I wish I could be in your shoes,
Let's take a breath so that you can pretend,
There's nothing we can do.
Let me feel the weight of my despair,
Let me just hold it as my own,
We need not wallow or ignore our care,
But our pain deserves to be known.
Focus on the brighter side and times,
As life is measured in net gains,
Enjoy your breakfast, brunches and wines,
If only you could die of shame.
