Creeping Fear

As from water flows an endless font Dark as the smoke from an unmarked pyre Burning into the hazy twilight Plumes coiling And breathing Of their own volition Come Come, children Come Into the depths of our anguish Let thy creeping fear Pour into the chasm From which all is created Drown in our font A baptism of death Gather near Break bread Under the surface Small rippling waves Disappearing off the edge of all you know And they spake: Give us nothing For we art nothing We art but vague shadows Slipping in and out of a dream
