"Wattudragaren" is my first solo album, featuring over 75 minutes of carefully composed and arranged ambient music. The physical version - Digipak CD on organic artboard stock - featured unique hand-drawn artwork on each individual copy, making them genuine one-of-a-kind items.
Contrary to most of my previous work, this is a calm and meditative listen, and I aimed for an organic and atmospheric sound with a lot of layers to discover. Everything was expertly mastered on vintage analog equipment by Anders Lagerfors (Dark Tranquillity, Mitochondrial Sun etc), and I'm very pleased with how immersive and atmospheric it all sounds.
On one level, I enjoy experimenting with music where the timbre and "soul" of the individual sounds are as important as the notes played. On another level, creating a lengthy and droning "nature album" with hand-drawn cover artwork is also a symbolical act of resistance in an era where a lot of music seems to be designed for instant gratification and superficial catchiness.
