She opens her eyes to let in the light, but she’ll need more than your laid hands to make it through the night. She lets out a cry begging for something more than your delusions that can’t stop what reality has in store. What did you do? You created life, then didn’t see it through. Your words are not enough. Your thoughts are not enough. Where was your love as her eyes were letting go of the light? It’s not enough. It was never enough. They’re shielding their ears and closing their eyes as the hell outside the closet door burns through the night.
