Aurum Ruunt
Pull The Strings
Summer has come
I’m on an overnight train
Watching pouring rain blow sideways
Crescent moon hung
Peering through overcast skies, through the lightning I gazed upon it
The air it clung to my skin like cobwebs clinging to a corner
And a premonition told me that things were about to change
It’s a gold rush
I feel the weight of my tools on my back as I step off the train now
I will find my worth in the hills, in the western soil, mark my word
It’s a gold rush
And I’m not going back empty handed
Summer has gone
Nights growing colder as I trek out westward, with nothing to my name
In the moon’s glow
Not much like once I remembered, in my time the rock had grown hateful
Taking in my surroundings
The land was taken over by the prospectors there before me
But the greed crept up my spine
It was over in no time
It’s a gold rush
I feel the weight of my tools on my back as I step off the train now
I will find my worth in the hills, in the western soil, mark my word
It’s a gold rush
And I’m not going back empty handed
I will find my worth in the work that I work, I will pull it from the earth
The restless, rolling slopes
Will be my claim to riches
And when my spoils come
I’ll hoard them til I’m young no more
This is sure
Die with my golden wealth
