Pyres
Lost and living, precious things we pay. Limbs you lose along the way. Ashes descending, interred to soil below. Or pulled into the undertow. Build me a mountain, so sweeter be the fall. We’ll meet again soon after all. Build me a mountain,so sweeter be the fall. As twilight comes for us, engage the dying light. And with unbending will, we rage into the night. Left to wander plains without an end. Abandoned was the son. Inquisition to this bastard god. Abandoned was the son. An entreaty to the barren sky, he was heard by none. I must keep drifting forward. into the pale and deep unknown. I must keep drifting forward. To breach the veil and find my home. Home. Forward. Faster to the sun.

"YUN" showcases a band transformed.

PYRES embrace a broad palette of influences that incorporates the furious energy of High on Fire, the melodic sludge metal of early era Baroness, and even delves into the realms of doom, grunge, and post-rock.

One of many dialectic translations of the Chinese word "Yun" is “to accumulate strength” or “to hold in emotions”. The album’s narrative is autobiographical in nature with lyrics depicting a mission of healing old wounds and purging the “accumulation” of grief and guilt.
