Pyres
Saw your face in the eye of a nightmare. The more I stared the more you looked like me. And I’d see the bones beneath your skin. And smiled upon the kingdom you’d leave. I walked the path you tread before me. Circled in negative feedback gyre. And I become the author, alone in glory. Alight, This soul is free and on fucking fire. Break this bloodline , break the chains. Until none remain. This heart Is tethered To things Long dead This soul Is weathered And it lingers In regret

"YUN" showcases a band transformed.

PYRES embrace a broad palette of influences that incorporates the furious energy of High on Fire, the melodic sludge metal of early era Baroness, and even delves into the realms of doom, grunge, and post-rock.

One of many dialectic translations of the Chinese word "Yun" is “to accumulate strength” or “to hold in emotions”. The album’s narrative is autobiographical in nature with lyrics depicting a mission of healing old wounds and purging the “accumulation” of grief and guilt.
