Remnants of life and death and beyond Constructed by ancient fire and ice and steel and potions unknown Fluids melded deep Fluids in my sleep Thaumaturgic destination revealed Atoms split, mind sprung from the cauldron Self sacrifice unintended Oolech overdose No longer a body, now inanimate, a weapon of some sort Or a utensil for specific forms of mastication Perhaps I am both, but why can I think Cursed Object Void of nerve endings Destined for utility Rigid, yet pliable, intrepid Transfiguration unchangeable Acceptance Into the guts of my wielder’s enemies The mouths of warriors elite Slashing and prodding beasts with ease A feast far from home, forever long gone Gone forever Unheard scream from a sharp blade, life thrown away Bittersweet existence Eaten from mortality Shine Concede Bittersweet existence Eaten from mortality

Hydrophilous Brood takes place in Pamugara, a dimensional nest immersed in a lush world where organisms are rematerialized into new hybrid species after passing through a powerful portal, a highly unpredictable artifact known as the ‘Mossbane Lantern’. Each song has a thematic connection to various artifacts on the previous album (Mossbane Lantern), extrapolating the characteristics and aftereffects of those artifacts within this temperamental environment of a planet.

Musically, Sallow Moth goes hand in hand with the aforementioned lyrical themes of transformation in that the continuous evolution of the project has become a signature feature with each album. This album retains a portion of the genre-shifting approach of previous works, but deliberately exhibits more focus on the intersection of technical death metal and brutal death metal, especially with the addition of a highly skilled drummer in Allen Gingerich. Notable influences on Hydrophilous Brood include Mortal Decay, Wormed, Deeds of Flesh, Cephalic Carnage, and Cynic.
