Nothing really happened Nothing that bad, anyway I deserved it it was all my fault, if it did I saw the ending frightened dogs, the sun rising ashamed of lying all the sex with him A flight of fancy we spent the summer in I’m frozen cold and stolen above my parents’ bed a man I invited and I lied to him Nothing really happened Nothing that bad, anyway I deserved it it was all my fault, if it did I saw the ending frightened dogs, the sun rising He stares at me naked I’m a Polly pocket prince Wish I had a safe word I haven’t had one since

Ex-boyfriends, new fuck boys, mom and dad.

"That Wasn't Love" explores Liza's past romances and family relationships seen through the lens of a clearer, present-day understanding of what love (really) is. Powered by a new more academic and regimented approach, Liza produced these songs between January to July of 2025 on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, with coffee before work. From the bedroom, to the garage: this work represents a strong turning point in her music, as she moves away from inaccessibly private and painful-to-listen-to bedroom pop, towards a more grungy, yet structured, garage rock sound inspired by Mazzy Star, Patti Smith, Lana Del Rey and Opus III.
