Long days Melting sun By the sweat of your brow We'll get by as our home, our bodies, are torn limb from limb Coursing through our blood is a life you'll never know And we'll make sure it stays the way These people; they live and die To sing the praises of the home they know These fingers are calloused Our bodies are broken But we'll get by I know To the music of our suffering The outside never peers within They don't know the magic in these hills The sweat The blood The love The guilt The stars The moon The wolves The will

The Appalachian Mountains are best known for its deep and rich folklore surrounding mythical creatures and ominous happenings throughout its magical rolling hills. But the true story of the region is much less fantastical and much more despairing. The region has a long and painful history of exploitation of natural resources, abuse of labor rights, genocide of indigenous peoples, addiction, and a plague of predatory evangelism. This 5-track demo seeks to address some of the pains of the place I call home.

This demo was recorded late 2022 through early 2023.
