The geometry of cages slowly erected in stages. Internal dread, creates walking dead as we suffer through life for wages. The unobstructed sky taunts us with thoughts of freedom as we dredge through this labyrinth of stone. This maze is a cage that keeps us enslaved, sedated and alone. The walls around us became as natural as the trees, therefore we did not mourn their passing or even miss their leaves. They built walls for our bodies, walls for our thoughts. They demonize our instincts to enforce what they’ve taught. How can I feel in this cage of concrete and steel? Nothing is real in these tombs of concrete and steel. Streets devoid of life lead to places devoid of meaning. Coffins equipped with windows keep us transfixed on lies. No wall is as tall as the one they have built in our minds. Born into prison, this prison is ours. Born into prison, we decorate the bars. We make the incision, we learn to love the scars We make the decision, that’s been sewn into our hearts. A coming storm rages. As we realize all they’ve built for us are cages.

The collected efforts of over 55 bands have coalesced into "Heavy for the Hollers", a 4.5+ hour genre-spanning compilation that unites artists from across the scene together in a common cause.

The devastating effects of Hurricane Helene were felt across the nation but most potently in Appalachia due to its lack of resources and infrastructure robust enough to resist a storm of such magnitude. We at Liminal Dread Productions in conjunction with the band Threnodist felt compelled to compile this set of tracks in hopes that it might encourage many to give what they can in service of beginning the healing process. Though immediate aid is critical, it is sustained giving which allows a region to recover.

All proceeds from sale of this compilation will go to Mutual Aid Disaster relief.

Other methods of giving include purchasing at Bandcamp or by directly donating to Mutual Aid Disaster Relief. Provide proof of a direct donation to [email protected] to receive a Bandcamp download code.
