Seattle's Guest Directors return with their second EP, "Captured in the Light" - four songs of swirling guitars, powerful rhythms, and catchy female and male vocals entwined throughout. Get lost as Marr-inspired jangles combine with delicate pedal-dancing to create a mesmerizing melodic drift. Occasional odd time signatures tease expectations and keep you engaged in an evolving tension of harmony and imbalance. It's a confident amalgamation of sounds generated with a nod to the pensive and melancholy that would sit comfortably in a collection alongside Swervedriver, Sonic Youth, Echo and the Bunnymen, and a slew of artists from the 4AD catalog.
