I’ve got a mean streak in me smeared scabrous head to toe shallow enough to be rough to the touch even from a distance it’s starting to show please know that I’ve tried to spare you this plight fatal flaws — burrowed larval moths eating at me until they come to light a patience known to thin a temper prone to swing moths ravage my complexion consuming you as they’re leaving me shedding scales from vehement wings a tempest of dust that I’ve unleashed there’s no shelter here no air left to breathe a jittering eclipse a pale lunar limb an opaque haze is closing in an infestation of baseless anguish I’m not always a walking plague I often lack self-restraint babbling when it’s your turn to speak cackling as I vibrate and pace yowling ‘til I choke wound up with vertigo lined with vile cocoons throbbing as they grow you tell me you can’t recognize this hideous figure I assume when there’s nothing wrong between us the moths are loosed enshrouding you shedding scales from vehement wings a tempest of dust that I’ve unleashed there’s no shelter here no air left to breathe a jittering eclipse a pale lunar limb an opaque haze is closing in an infestation of baseless anguish suppressed expressed the moths consume there’s nothing left there’s nothing left

Harnessing the raw energy of the volcanic badlands, forested valleys, and Painted Hills of Oregon, Portland’s Dry Wedding has refined their singular sound with the release of their third album The Back Of Beyond — their heaviest and most aggressive full-length to date.

The dense gloom of post-punk, the spectral twang of gothic country, the fervent rhythms of noise rock, and the visceral intensity of black metal and doom all contribute to the band’s serpentine songcraft — ranging from immersive dirges to frenetic passages that slash and burn.

Razor-sharp guitars, prowling basslines, and pummeling drums form desolate soundscapes that meld seamlessly with the band’s dynamic baritone vocals and evocative lyrics. Whether they’re traversing smoke-filled canyons beneath ruptured skies or crossing the threshold of a decaying backwoods cabin, Dry Wedding has crafted a cathartic listening experience that defies classification.
