It's The People We Choose ​is probably my most honest work, it came to me during a time where it really felt like I was having to pretend I had the confidence and was in the know for everything but I wasn’t. And that scared me, I didn’t know what to expect. This EP is the way I put out the feelings I had locked away, I poured everything into the songs you hear on the EP it meant a lot to me. The main subject is picking your people, I believe that the people you choose will reflect you and it reflects who you are as a person as well because you’ll all at least have something in common. I picked a lot of the wrong people during the time I was going into my teens and so it had put me in a really bad spot when I found people I truly believed I was the best with, and was the most comfortable with. Somethings also happen not because of you, I almost had my own life taking near my own home. It destroyed me. I didn’t tell anyone but I felt really lost, I felt scared. I didn’t know if I could step out the door again and guarantee that everything was going to be okay, but I also had to learn that life is exactly that. You DON’T know what’s going to happen and there’s a moment where you need to accept it and just take life head on.

It’s The People We Choose as an EP is how I feel during all of this, this time of looking upon the past and then ends you with Someone I Once Knew where it’s a time of reflection to look back upon yourself and see how far you’ve gotten in this life so far. That there’s something there to keep going for. I will forever cherish the time I had making this release and cherish the people who helped me here, and the people who supported the project and was really inspiring for me here.

You and your friends, family, relatives, etc. rely upon each other, least we can do in a world where life just doesn’t seem to go in our favour a lot is to stick by one another and that’s my perfect way of describing this release. It may not be a perfect EP description telling you what the tracks are but I believe it’s something better.

(The EP is a combination of dark ambient with orchestral elements if you were curious though.)
