We’re wasting away We’re losing control We watch our hope fleet into the dust This millennium watch as we decay Dead leaves blanket the ground Cracks collect and they surround The vines creep through the glass Tightly binding what they pass Beneath the boards of the floor you hear the creaks Of matter and mind theoretical leaks The water fills up enough to silence your speech Passing storms hostile to oxygen you seek Lines between fiction and this life blur As every foundation breaks apart Watch it stir The basics we knew rotten to the core What can we restore? Or are we wrapped in fancy metaphor? We’re wasting away (We’re all victims of time) We’re losing control (Broken promises are all we got) We watch our hope fleet into the dust (As this story unfolds) This millennium watch as we decay I just wish I had the time to prepare For this age of decay, this onslaught of despair The lichen covers the walls, spores in the air Coated iris cries, onlookers gather and stare Will I live through another breaking development Meticulously crafted to keep raising the price of rent? The roots crawl through the pipes Challenge mortality Imagine what we’ll overthrow when we become free We’re wasting away We’re losing control We watch our hope fleet into the dust This millennium watch as we decay

The Age of Decay is my final chapter exploring the concept of Decay. It is a part of the Apocalypse arc of albums: Despair, Decay, and next: Revenge.

While The Light at the End of Decay is about finding hope at the end of the apocalypse, The Age of Decay is about the here and now. This EP is about living while the apocalypse is happening all around you and the feelings that come with it: anger, anxiety, melancholy, loss, love.

When I wrote The Light at the End of Decay, there were several songs I loved that I was unable to finish in time for the album's release. One of the songs, Decay, was literally where I got the title of the album from!! Instead of scrapping the songs or repurposing them, I wanted to keep them in tact as canon parts of the Decay storyline.

I also decided to use this EP as an opportunity to shed light on some of my favorite The Light at the End of Decay songs (and Pay No Mind) by getting them remixed. Each remix is paired with an artist I love with a song I feel really fit their vibe.

Track 1 is dedicated to Robert Garcia, a friend I lost to the Age of Decay (1989-2012)
